Empty

Not only the blog is empty of posts, so is my apartment. In less than 4h all was gone. Next three days sleeping in air mattress, and then off to Australia, New Zealand, etc

Looking forward...

...for my next trip. Have been planning it for sometime :)

Before that will have the moving company packing my entire place and store until I return and find a place to live in DC. Exciting times ahead!

Weekend

Finally I can say I had a weekend. After a couple busy months with work, I am finally able to get some downtime :)

Went to NYC. Saturday had a nice walk in LES, combined with brunch at "Brown Cafe". The space is small, but very nice. Comfortable seats made of wood. The food is just delicious. After nothing like keep walking to digest the food. Cameras always on my hand to snap some pictures. Unfortunately, nothing great came out. The weather was just fantastic during the afternoon. Around 5PM started feeling a gentle breeze that made it cooler. Off we go to Orchard Street to get a delicious cappucino at "Roasting Plant". At night, just a calm dinner at a Korean restaurant (Se Ja Meh). Sunday started late. Went directly to brunch at "August", followed by a walk on the village, then towards to Union Square, and back on 14th St. to the meatpacking district. Some shopping done, then a glass of wine and finally back home. What a wonderful weekend in NYC.

Politics

Nao tenho acompanhado de perto todo o processo "Face Oculta". Contudo acho que nao deveria ser chamado "Face Oculta", mas sim "Face Descoberta", porque ao que parece afinal e' do dominio publico tudo o que se passa no processo. Inclusive gravacoes que deveriam ter sido destruidas.

Acho dois fenomenos deveras hilariantes:

1 - O nosso (pseudo) segredo de justica

2 - Os politicos

Segredo de justica. Enfim. Todos sabemos que nao existe. Mais vale seguir as recomendacoes do Bastonario da Ordem dos Advogados e acabar-se de vez com esse (falso) conceito. E' extremamente irritante que em qualquer caso, socialmente mais visivel, se saibam todos os detalhes. Diria que bastaria aos advogados comprarem o jornal diario e acompanharem os telejornais para se preparem para julgalmento.

Politicos. Nao vou entrar na perspectiva que este ou aquele e' mentiroso, que quer ou nao controlar a comunicacao social, etc etc. Sempre me irritou um pouco a politica barata. Pega-se em algo hipotetico (AKA boato) e toca a destruir a imagem de uma pessoa. Lembremo-nos do caso do Antonio Vitorino. Em 1997 um jornal decidiu dizer que tinha "provas" que o Antonio Vitorino andava a fugir ao fisco. Escandalo. Todos os partidos da oposicao usaram esse evento para pedirem a sua demissao. Na altura ministro da defesa (se nao estou em erro!), resignou ao cargo. Mais tarde demonstrou-se que nao havia evasao fiscal. Independentemente do seu futuro politico (Comissiario Europeu), nao me lembro de ter havido consequencias para o jornal. Talvez um, "Enfim, pedimos desculpas. A nossa fonte nao era assim tao boa". E' triste, na minha perspectiva, ver que perdemos tempo com determinados aspectos que desviam a atencao de problemas centrais.

So' tenho que me agradar que pior que politicos, so' mesmo religiao :)

Twitter

This blog during the past weeks has become more similar to a twitter account rather than a blog. However, now things seem to have calm down a little bit more and should return to normalcy. I will be back soon :)

Yesterday, two hours of Lost and Haagen-Dazs (Dulce de Leche). It was a great night to relax a bit.

Now back to work.
